Edward Williams Jr.
Edward Williams Jr., 57, husband of Adrenia Leaf Williams, died March 26, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born June 29, 1949, in Gable, he was the son of Rebecca Montgomery Williams and the late Edward Williams Sr. He was a devoted member and leader at Congruity Presbyterian Church. As a member of the church, he was a very active elder. He smiled easily and was a joy to be around and certainly never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Adrenia Leaf Williams; his mother, Rebecca Williams; one daughter, Yaronda Williams; grandson, Camareyon Williams; granddaughter in love, Shaukhirah A. Austin; six sisters, Hattie (the Rev. Jonathan) Anderson of Alcolu, Lucille (the Rev. Larry) Davis, Louise Davis and Jackie Oliver, all of Sumter, Wanda (Redgey) Johnson of Summerville and Barbara (Robert) Wilson of Augusta, Ga.; three brothers, Ernest (Regan) Montgomery, Willie (Mary Ellen) Montgomery and Cecil Montgomery, all of Bridgeport, Conn.; eight sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; mother-in-law, Inez Leaf; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ruth Davis; two brothers, Jesse Montgomery and Willie Lee Williams; and father-in-law, Fletcher Leaf.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Congruity Presbyterian Church, Gable, with the Rev. William Jones Jr. officiating.
Burial was in Congruity Church Cemetery.
Job’s Mortuary Inc. of Sumter was in charge of arrangements.
