Alyce Hill Means

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Alyce Hill Means, 94, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Heritage House Nursing Home in Valdosta.

Born March 13, 1914 in Bamberg, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Hill and Sarah Nelson Wright. She was a member of Manning First Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Margery Rogge of Valdosta, Ga., one grandson, Paul Ducom III of Elgin, and three granddaughters, Shan Ducom of Rome, Ga., Mellette Dobson of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Leslie Meyer of Williamsburg, Va.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 29, 2008, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Cottone officiating.

Burial followed in the Manning Cemetery.

Pallbearers were deacons and men of Manning First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to United Hospice of Valdosta, 407 Cowart Ave., Valdosta, Ga., 31602.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
