Freddy Lee McFadden

Minister Freddy Lee McFadden died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.

Born Feb. 3, 1961, in Manning, he was a son of Minnie Gibson McFadden and the late Matt McFadden Sr. He was a 1979 graduate of Scott’s Branch High School. He was a member of Gum Spring Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for Hart Transport. He joined in the ministry with Faith with Work Ministry.

Survivors besides his mother are his wife, Frances Dixon McFadden; three children, Koranickia “Shawn” Fredrick Lee and Minishia “Sherrelle” McFadden; two brothers, Matt (Brenda) McFadden Jr. of Columbia and James (Betty) McFadden of Bronx, N.Y.; seven sisters, Audry Johnson, Evelyn Betrand, Novell Ellison, Deloris (Marcellus) Conyers and Catherine Lemon, all of Manning, Minnie (Horace) Flennory of Miami, Fla., and Carrie (Tyrone) Carraway of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren; and two aunts, Tiny Belle (Deacon Jesse) Caldwell of Manning and Ida McFadden of Sumter.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Blanding, and a brother, Ervin McFadden.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Gum Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Pinewood, with the Rev. Corey Thompson, pastor, presiding, Elder Herman Anthony Blanding, eulogist, assisted by the Revs. Wendell Colby and Ranzy McFadden and Bishop Darrell McFadden.

Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
