Rounette E. Harrington
Rounette Evans Harrington, 86, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital, after an illness.
Mrs. Harrington was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Clarendon County, a daughter of the late Luther W. and Margaret Harrington Evans. She was a graduate of Gable High School. She was a retired seamstress for Royal Dry Cleaners and a homemaker. Mrs. Harrington was an active member of Midway Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Harrington was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James Archie Evans and Willard Rubin Harrington; sister, Mary E. Rodgers; and brother, D.W. Evans.
Surviving are a daughter, Runell Morris of New Zion; five sons, J.W. (Mickie) Evans of Myrtle Beach, Milburn (Deborah) Evans, Sheldon (Johnnie Lynn) Evans and Dan Harrington, all of New Zion, and Dudley (Amy) Harrington of Martinez, Ga.; a sister, Zelene Robinson of Manning; nine grandchildren, Becky Turner of Myrtle Beach, Jonathan Evans of Florence, Shelley (Sammie) Lowder, Laura (John) Bess, Dena Evans, Stacey Evans and Stephanie Evans, all of New Zion, and Annsley Harrington and Madison Harrington, both of Martinez; and great-grandchildren, Bryan Woodberry and Allison Woodberry, both of Lake City, Adam Lowder, Allie Lowder and Kaleigh Bess, all of New Zion.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Midway Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Rodney Foster.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
