John W. Felder
NEWARK, N.J. – Deacon John Wash “Bubba” Felder, 61, husband of Virginia McKalvey Felder, died March 20, 2008, in Newark.
Born Sept. 19, 1946, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Elijah Felder and the late Minnie Ida Brown Felder. His education was obtained in the public schools of Clarendon County. He was a member of Greater St. Phillips RMUE Church. Upon moving to Newark, he joined Welcome Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was employed by several companies while living in Newark including the Ford Motor Co., Modern Music and Option Care.
Survivors include two sons, Sheldon (Selina) Livingston of Goose Creek and Michael (Linda) Livingston of Summerton; four daughters, Felicia Livingston, Kena Loylas and Deion Parker, all of Newark, and Shanda (Randy) Dingle of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, George Felder of Summerton and James Felder of Silver; one sister, Willene “Kay” Lintor of Summerton; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Hayes and Henry Felder; and three sisters, Margaret Robinson, Lila Mae Green and Ellanora Jenkinson.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 28, 2008, at Greater St. Phillips RMUE Church in Summerton, with the pastor, the Revs. Warren Hatcher, officiating, Elijah L. Williams Jr. and Amos Hatcher.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Summerton Funeral Services was in charge of the arrangements.
