Lillian R. Guess
Lillian Ramzinski Guess, wife of Francis “Spunky” Guess, 76, formerly of Summerton, Texas and surrounding area, passed away on March 8, 2008 in Lawrenceburg, Tenn.
She was born Dec. 8, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of August “Gus” and Margaret (Golla) Ramzinski.
On Nov. 26, 1949, she married Francis “Spunky” Guess and he survives.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society, a County Women’s Republican Party Chairwoman in Texas, the founder of the NCO Auxiliary, and was the first grandmother in the Texas State Guard.
She graduated from the St. Gerard Catholic High School in San Antonio. She was a housewife and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; three sons: Michael Guess of Irving, Texas, Marc (Pam) Guess of Moulton, Ala. and Robert Guess of Monte Rio, Calif.; a daughter, Belinda (David) Owens Kennesaw, Ga.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Her parents and a sister, Irene Sanders, preceded her in death.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Sacred Heart Church in Lawrenceburg and then at San Antonio’s Oblinger Funeral Home on March 17.
Burial was held on March 18 at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
