William Gibbons

William “Billy” Gibbons age 52, died March 10, 2008, at a Bamberg hospital after an illness.

Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of William Jake Gibbons Jr. and the late Patricia Ann Graham Gibbons. He was employed with Teton Industries, as an ironworker, and attended Turbeville First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother, John Edward Gibbons, paternal grandparents, Jake Gibbons Sr. and Essie Gibbons; maternal grandparents Luther Graham and Esther Graham.

Surviving are his father of Turbeville, two sons, William Grant (Marcy) Gibbons and Christopher Wade Gibbons, both of Sumter; a sister, Teresa Ann (Joel) Hartley of Turbeville; and one granddaughter, Hanna Grace Gibbons.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Turbeville First Baptist Church.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta was in charge of arrangements.
