Donald Robert Contant

Donald Robert Contant Sr., 79, died Friday, March 14, 2008, in The Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg.

Born February 6, 1929, in Passaic, N.J., he was a son of the late Cornelius B. and Jean Zabriskie Contant. He was a retired air pilot engineer, past Commander for ten years of the American Legion Post 35 in Summerton. He was a United States Navy pilot veteran.

Surviving are two sons, Donald R. Contant Jr. of Navarre, Fla., and Thomas Reed Contant of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Linda Sue Contant of Locust, N.C.; a sister, Barbara Reed of Jamesburg, N.J.; two granddaughters, Rebecca and Amber; and a great grandson, Gavin.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, with the Rev. William K. Cribb officiating.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning, was in charge of the arrangements.
