The Clarendon Scene ... as seen in Clarendon

The Goat Island Boat Club held an Easter Egg hunt for some children from the Turbeville Free Will Baptist Home For Children last Saturday. Club President Joe Campbell was the chef for the day as the children also were treated to a hot dog picnic lunch. Easter Eggs and candy went a long way toward brightening the day for several of the children. Those pig-cookin’ boys of Clarendon County, known as the Taste of Clarendon Barbecue Team took first place at the Calhoun County cooking competition, March 7-8. Dennis Craven, Jake Buddin and Lamar Kennedy did it again with their award winning culinary skills. The competition was held at the Calhoun County Museum and Cultural Center, in cooperation with St. Matthews American Legion Post 12 and the Calhoun County Relay for Life. This event was an official SCBA Barbeque Cook-Off held as part of the county’s centennial bash. Congratulations, boys!
