Ida Mae Conyers
FLORENCE – Ida Mae “Cooter” Conyers died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Born in Clarendon County, she was the daughter of the late Purdy Washington Sr. and the late Katie Conyers Walter.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories two sons, Edward (Evenlyn) Conyers of Thomasville, N.C., and Mike (Evone) Conyers of High Point, N.C.; one daughter, Itrell Conyers of the home; two brothers, Porcy (Sarah) and Edward (Jerone); five sisters, Estell, Mary (Shelly), Gwendolyn, Agnes and Carrie Lee; special cousins, Mamie (Lindsey), Leatha (Richard), Willie Johnson, Morgan, James, Thomas and John; special friends, Carrie Prioleau, Essie Oliver, Elizabeth Johnson and Gladys Murray; and another special cousin, Dottie.
She is preceded in death by a daughter; two sons, Aron and Morgan; four brothers, James Sr., Thomas, Buster and Porcy; three sisters, Lucille, Marguerite and Lillian Ann; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 12, 2007, at St. Mark Baptist Church in Pinewood, the Rev. Willie J. Chandler, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
King Funeral Home of Summerton was in charge of the arrangements.
