Larry M. Winkles

Larry Melvin Winkles, 63, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at his residence in the Home Branch community of Manning.

Born Sept. 29, 1944, in Sumter, he was a son of Elbert Clifton Winkles Sr. and Thelma Louise Wilson Winkles. He was retired from Federal Mogul and was a member of Cross Roads Bible Fellowship Church.

Surviving are his parents of Manning; a brother, E. Clifton (Faye) Winkles Jr. of Manning; a nephew, Robert Clifton Winkles of Darlington; and two nieces, Wendy Ali of Sumter and Michelle Morse of Manning.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Cross Roads Bible Fellowship Church with the Rev. John Hall officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Todd Avant, Tom McCann, Jimmy Tisdale, Pat Tisdale, Basset Ali and Danny Brewer.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
