Alice R. Mahoney

Alice Leola Rhodus Mahoney, 72, wife of Linwood Ernest Mahoney Sr., died Monday, March 3, 2008, at her home in Manning.

Born May 29, 1935, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late James Wesley and Pearl Ardis Rhodus. She was a retired nurses’ aide, and attended Church of God of Prophecy of Alcolu.

She is survived by her husband of Manning; two sons, Ernie (Betty) Mahoney and Donnie (Neal) Mahoney of Manning; a daughter, Diane (Jeff) Benenhaley of Manning; a brother, Sonny (Debbie) Rhodus of Manning; a sister, Doris (Buddy) Rodgers of Sumter; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 6, 2008, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, with the Rev. Raymond Barfield, the Rev. Tracy Benenhaley and Jeffery Benenhaley officiating.

Burial followed in Clarendon Memorial Gardens in Manning.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
