Lorene Floyd

Lorene Floyd, 89, of Turbeville, died March 3, 2008, at a Florence nursing facility after an illness.

Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Manning Lynch and Hattie Lucille Norton Lynch. Mrs. Floyd was retired from SkyLine Manufacturing Co. after 20 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Turbeville, where she was a member of the Ladies Circle of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Floyd; a daughter, Patricia Ann Floyd; a sister, Fannie Mae Rhinehart; and a brother, Woodrow Lynch.

She is survived by five daughters, Sylvis Floyd, Linda (Thomas) Robinson and Natalie (Garland) Baker, all of Turbeville, Shannon (Rotha) Turner of Sumter and Gail (Gary) Danner of Ridgeway; a son, Jimmy Wells Floyd of Sumter; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Turbeville.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta was in charge of the arrangements.
