Glenda D. Mathis

Glenda DuRant Mathis, 86, widow of Richard Curtis Mathis, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Joseph H. DuRant and the late Beulah Bracey DuRant.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Women’s Afternoon Circle.

Surviving are a son, Len D. (Beth) Mathis Sr. of Manning; a daughter, Lucie M. (Warren) Moise of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren, Jared Barnhill, Lenny Mathis and Bracey Moise.

Graveside services were held on Friday, March 2, 2007, at the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Baynai officiating.

Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory of Sumter was in charge of the arrangements.
