Marcy C. Hatcher Sr.

PINEWOOD – Marcy Charlie Hatcher Sr. was born April 14, 1975, in Clarendon County, a son of Charlie Frank Hatcher and the late Ida Mae Nelson Hatcher. He entered eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.

He attended the public schools of Clarendon County and graduated in 1995 from Scott’s Branch High School in Summerton. He continued his education at Benedict College in Columbia and majored in early childhood education. He converted his life at an early age and joined Antioch RMUE Church, where he was a member of the usher board and sang on the male chorus that he formed. In the community, Marcy coached the girl’s softball team for State Farm Insurance Co. and helped coach the varsity football team for Scott’s Branch High School. He played softball with the Blanding Sluggers.

His fond and precious memories will be cherished by a devoted father, Charlie Frank Hatcher of Sumter; one son, Marcy Charlie Hatcher Jr. of Pinewood; one daughter, Makaylah R. Hatcher of Pinewood; his fiancee, Latasha Bosier of the home, Rimini; three brothers, Wilbur (Renee) Hatcher and Rodney Hatcher, both of Sumter, and Joe Lee (Latricia) Nelson of Thomasville, N.C.; and one sister, Deloris (Sam) Hatcher of Sumter.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Antioch RMUE Church, Rimini, with Elder Ronald Wine, pastor, assisting the Rev. Robert James Jr., the Rev. Amos Hatcher, the Rev. Warren Hatcher and Evangelist Debra Green.

Burial followed in Antioch Memorial Garden Cemetery, Rimini.

Community Funeral Home of Sumter was in charge of the arrangements.
