Pearl H. Tisdale
Pearl Hazel Haley Tisdale, 86, widow of James Eugene Tisdale, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital, Manning.
Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Patrick Smith Haley and the late Ella Ruth Frierson Haley. Mrs. Tisdale was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, which she loved, and worked as a Sunday school teacher, WMU director, and mission director for many years.
Surviving are a son, James E. (Cathy) Tisdale of Manning; three daughters, Donna Jean (Kenneth) Nutter of Sumter, Deborah Ruth Love of Sumter and Cathy Marisa Rembert of Myrtle Beach; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Rosa (Calvin) Hodge of Sumter.
She was preceded in death by a baby brother, Murray Smith Haley.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at New Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert N. Rivers and Pastor John Hall officiating.
Burial was in the Home Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Manning.
Grandsons, Jamie Tisdale, Pat Tisdale, Brian Nutter, Paul Nutter, Brian Rembert, Kevin Nutter and Stephen Byrd served as pallbearers.
