Estelle W. Reardon
LYNCHBURG – Estelle Wright Reardon, 87, widow of Harry Reardon, died Feb. 21, 2007, at her home in Lynchburg.
Born Jan. 10, 1920, in Turbeville, she was a daughter of the late Henry Wright and Maggie Busby Wright. She accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Hickory Grove Baptist Church and later Oak Grove AME Church, where she served faithfully. She received her education in the public schools of Clarendon County.
Survivors include one son, Samuel (Clara) Reardon of Lynchburg; five daughters, Wilhemenia (Allen) Conely of Brooklyn, N.Y., Odelle (Donald) Wilson of Dalzell, Maggie (MacArthur) McFadden of Columbia, Jacqueline Durant of Columbia, Md., and Reba (Runard) Nelson of Lynchburg; three brothers, Elijah Wright, Freeze (Emma) Wright and Moses Wright, all of Lynchburg; two sisters, Amanda Nelson of Baltimore, Md., and Virginia N. Wright of Lynchburg; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Simon Reardon.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Oak Grove AME Church in Lake City, with the Rev. Oliver Davis, pastor, assisting the Rev. Jimmy Wilson, presiding, the Rev. Mary Rose and the Rev. Devon Wright.
Burial was in New McFadden Cemetery.
Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
