Henry C. Broadway

BISHOPVILLE – Henry Carlisle Broadway, 72, husband of Jean Lowe Broadway, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Hartsville.

Born in Manning, he was a son of the late Ollie Austin Broadway Sr. and the late Lettie Hodge Broadway. He owned and operated Broad-way Iron Works for 34 years and spent 15 years riding and showing walking horses with his children. His hobbies included gardening, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

Survivors besides his wife include three children, Diane B. (Steve) Millen of Rembert, Mitchell C. (Bonnie) Broad-way of Waynesboro, Pa., and Lisa B. (Mark) Duda of Columbia; nine grandchildren, Jason Merideth, Joey Truett, Blake Truett, Ashleigh Millen, Austin Millen, Rebecca Broadway, Austin Broadway, Carly Duda and Sydney Duda; four brothers, Gene Broadway, Sidney Broadway, Howard Broadway and Ollie Broadway Jr.; three sisters, Mary Ann Baker, Nell Baker and Jeanette Watts.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Broadway.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gordon Timmons officiating.

Burial was in the Bethlehem United Methodist Church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 167, Bishopville, S.C. 29010.

Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home of Bishopville was in charge of arrangements.
