Harry E. Barrett
Harry Elston Barrett, 87, husband of Mary Lee Hodge Barrett, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, in Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Born June 15, 1919, in Manning, he was a son of the late Charles Bass and Mary Cannie Lloyd Barrett. He was a retired building contractor and a member of Manning First Baptist Church.
Surviving besides his wife of Manning are two daughters, Carolyn (Michael) Hadder of New Bern, N.C., and Mary Ann (William) Carter of Weaverville, N.C.; two sons, Harry E. (Betty) Barrett Jr. of Clearwater, Fla., and Randolph (Debbie) Barrett of Sumter; a brother, Willis Cecil Barrett of Columbia; three sisters, Margaret Windham of Timmonsville, Mary Emily Tennant of Sumter and Dorothy Coker of Alcolu; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Lee Barrett; three brothers, Jim, Liston and Sam Barrett; and three sisters, Virginia Street, Louise Barrett and Grace Hodge.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, in Manning First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Cottone and the Rev. Dr. Paul M. Sullivan officiating.
Burial followed in Manning Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Karl Miller, Jim Queen, Hoyt Collins, LeRoy Phillips, Larry Williamson and John Franklin Thames.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
