Wilbert Green

Wilbert “Yogi” Green, 41, entered into eternal rest at High Point Regional Health System on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008.

He was born April 4, 1966, in Clarendon County, a son of the late Moses Lee Canty and Dorothy Green. He received his education in the public schools of Clarendon County and Guilford County, N.C. Yogi, as he was affectionately called, was a loving and kind person.

Memories will be cherished by seven brothers, Robert E. (Terri) Green of Sanford, N.C., Robert L. Green of Thomasville, N.C., Stanley (Jacqueline) Green of Pinewood, Tyrone (Carla) Stephen of Charlotte, N.C., Oran Stephen of Greensboro, N.C., Larry (Jennie) James of Loris and Leroy (Mayola) James of St. George; and three sisters, Marilyn (Zack) Abdoulaye of High Point, N.C., Rose Stephen of Charlotte and Bertha M. Johnson of Fort Benning, Ga.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Antioch RMUE Church in Rimini with the Rev. Ronald Wine, pastor, the Rev. Charlie Hampton, eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Robert Nelson and Evangelists Susan Burgess and Helen Century.

Burial followed in Manning Cemetery in Pinewood.

Community Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
