Theresa Elaine M. Allen

KINGSTREE – Theresa Elaine Mims Allen, 93, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Allen was born Feb. 2, 1915, in New Zion, a daughter of Donnie Ham and George Lennie Mims. She was educated in Williamsburg County schools and was an employee of Drexel Manufacturing for 20 years. Mrs. Allen was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she was active in many areas. She was also a volunteer for the Council on Aging.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husbands, Oscar L. Allen and James L. Allen, and her son, Jimmy Allen.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Milton (Brenda) Allen and Keith (Linda) Allen, both of Florence, and Charles Allen (Nina) of Summerville; three daughters, Donna McCutchen of Sumter, Faye (Arvle) McGrew of Charleston and Carole (James) Linder of Walterboro; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008 at Second Baptist Church.

Burial followed in Williamsburg Cemetery.
