James R. Pearson

James Robert Pearson, 55, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, in Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.

He was born July 27, 1951, in Clarendon County, a son of the late Isaac Pearson and Mary Pearson.

His education was obtained in the public schools of Clarendon County and at an early age he joined Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ. He was employed and worked faithfully at the Rickenbaker Gin and with several other jobs as a machine operator.

Survivors include Zolia Johnson of the home; three brothers, the Rev. Wendell (Mary) Pearson of Bloomville; Will Pearson of Manning and Willie Pearson of Manning; five sisters, Willie Mae Johnson of Bloomville, Rosa (Albert) Dow of Manning, Corine Beltson of Whiteville, N.C., Mary (Alphona) Dow of Manning and Ann (Sonny) Dingle of Bloomville.

Also surviving are her extended family, Jimmie (Eva) Johnson of Englewood, N.Y., Francina J. (Benjamin) Lemon of Baltimore, Patrick N. (Jervine) Johnson of Sanford, Fla., and Timothy R. (Gail) Johnson of Baltimore. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, Davis Station. Officiating was the Rev. County Prince Sampson Pearson, eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Ronnie Brown and Elder Hattie Weathers.

Burial was in Carolina Johnson Cemetery, Davis Station.

Fleming and Delaine Funeral Home of Manning was in charge of services.
