Johnny McFadden Jr.
Johnny “Pete” McFadden Jr., 63, died Jan. 31, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.
Born Nov. 11, 1943, in Alcolu, he was a son of the late Johnny McFadden Sr. and Annie Epps McFadden. He received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County, graduating from Manning Training School in 1964. He was employed at the Sunbeam Co. in Manning for many years. He was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church, where he attended regularly until his health failed.
Survivors include six brothers, Booker T. (Nellie) McFadden of Alcolu, Henry (Vertelle) McFadden of Brandon, Fla., Richard (Delores) McFadden of Lewisburg, Pa., Truman McFadden and Alexander McFadden, both of Manning, Wendell (Cheryl) McFadden of Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Louise McFadden of Queens Village, N.Y., Virginia (Gregory) Tucker of Elmont, N.Y., and Sara M. Hampton of Floral Park, N.Y.; one uncle, John Epps of Philadelphia, Pa.; and two aunts, Hattie Montgomery of Sumter and Rachel McFadden of Richmond, Va.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at Harmony Presbyterian Church (USA), Alcolu, with the Rev. Carnell Hampton, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mary Rose-Hagen.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
