Johnnie Lee Green Sr.
MIAMI, Fla. – Johnnie Lee Green Sr., 69, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at North Shore Convalescent Home, Miami.
Born Jan. 3, 1938, in Summerton, he was a son of the late William Green and Susie O. Green. His education was obtained in the public schools of Clarendon County and he attended Liberty Hill AME Church. At an early age, he moved to Miami to pursue a career with the City of Miami.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Green of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Walter (Deloris) Green of Brooklyn and Joseph Green of High Point, N.C.; three sisters, Willeen G. Canty, Susan E. Green and Durette Green, all of Hartford, Conn.; three grandchildren; three aunts, Rachel Junius of Summerton, Camilla Green of Hartford and Ruth Junius of Thomasville, N.C.; one uncle, Ben Oliver of Baltimore, Md.; and a devoted friend, Aldora Beard of Miami.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Eartha Mae Green; brothers, William, Charles and Bernnie Green; and one son, Johnnie L. Green Jr.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at Greater St. Phillips RUME Church, River Road, Pinewood, with Rev. Capers, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Liberty Hill AME Church cemetery.
Summerton Funeral Service was in charge of services.
