Tea Bertha T. Richardson

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Tea Bertha Tindal Richardson, 63, wife of Willie Richardson, died Jan. 24, 2008, at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, Brooklyn.

Born Aug. 31, 1944, in Summerton, she was the daughter of the late Rosa Lee Tindal and the late John Carter Gilmore. She was a graduate of Scott’s Branch High School and continued her education at New Rochelle College in Brooklyn. For several years, she was employed with AT&T as an operator. During her youth, she joined Oaks AME Church and later united with Washington Temple Church, Brooklyn.

Survivors include one son, Tony M. Tindal of Yonkers, N.Y.; five daughters, Rosa (Joseph) Dingle of Manning, Kelia (Eric) Rembert of Atlanta, Ga., Letisha Richardson, Crystal Hawkins and Denaysha Slaughter, all of Brooklyn; one brother, James Tindal of Summerton; one sister, Robertha Tindal of Summerton; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Antioch Baptist Church, Jordan community, with the Rev. Sam Livingston officiating, assisted by Minister Sherley Waiters.

Burial was in Oaks Cemetery, Santee.

Fleming and DeLaine Funeral Home of Manning was in charge of services.
