Martha Ann S. Hodge

HOLLY HILL – Martha Ann Spigner Hodge, 73, widow of John Glen “J.G.” Hodge, and formerly of Holly Hill, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at Laurel Baye Health Center in Williston.

Born Nov. 1, 1934, in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Dora Sanders Spigner. She was retired from Orangeburg County. She was a member of Target United Methodist Church in Holly Hill.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Arena H. Perry of Manning and Anna H. Harris of Orangeburg; two brothers-in-law, Louis Campbell of Summerton and Lavene Gause of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nell Spigner Campbell.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Barry Brinson officiating.

Burial followed in Trinity United Methodist Church cemetery in Alcolu.

Pallbearers were Stanley Holladay, Bert Holladay, Walt Holladay, Walter Campbell, Wayne Ward and Andrew Ward.

Memorials may be made to Target United Methodist Church, 1433 Brant Ave., Holly Hill, S.C. 29059.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
