Pearline M. Young
CLARKSON, Ga. – Pearline Mellerson Young, 39, wife of Perry Young Sr., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at her residence in Clarkson, Georgia.
Born Nov. 10, 1969, in Manning, she was the daughter of the late James Cubbage Sr. and Maggie Mae Mellerson Cubbage. She received her formal education in the public schools of Dade County, Maimi, Fla. She graduated from Manning High School in 1987. After graduation, she joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. She received an associate degree from Carolina Technical College. She accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Green Hill AME Church and later joined Zion Temple FBH Church, where she was an active member until her health failed.
She is survived by her husband, Perry Young Sr. of Clarkson; four children, two daughters, Ashley Young and Alyshia Young, and two sons, Perry Leo Young Jr. and Anthony Mellerson of the home; two sisters, Carolyn Patterson and Carolyn (Albertus) Sweat, both of Manning; and five brothers, William Patrick Mellerson of Miami, Ernest Mellerson, James Cubbage III, Hayward (Pearline) Cubbage and Tyrone Cubbage, all of Manning.
A emorial services was held on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at Hayes F. and LaNelle J. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel in Manning, with Bishop Willie Cubbage officiating, the Rev. Patrick Mellerson presiding, assisting Pastor Shelia Smith and Pastor Ocelia Blue.
Burial followed in the Goodwill Freewill Baptist Church cemetery.
Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
