Joseph McBride Morris

Joseph McBride “Jody” Morris, 37, husband of Tonya Nichole Thompson Morris, died Saturday, January 12, 2008, at his home in Manning.

Born December 23, 1970, in Manning, he was a son of Roger Woodrow and Sandra Joan Gilbert Morris. He was a clerk at Best Western, a former Clarendon County volunteer fireman, former member of the Clarendon County Rescue Squad, and a member of Grace Christian Fellowship Church.

Surviving are his wife of Manning; his parents of Manning; three daughters, Zoë, Lori and Sophia Morris of Manning; a brother, Eric (Kim) Morris of Manning; a sister, Rhonda Elizabeth (Dwayne) Player of Turbeville.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, with the Rev. Pec Chatham and the Rev. Sammy Thompson officiating.

Burial followed in New Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Brad Owens, Dwayne Player, Jeremy Morris, Kent Troublefield, Jason Thompson and Samuel Thompson.

Memorials may be made to Stephens Funeral Home, in memory of Jody Morris, P. O. Box 176, Manning, S.C. 29102.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
