Deron Rashaun Hilton
After a short illness, Deron Rashaun Hilton exchanged time for eternity on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Born in Manning on Jan. 12, 1985, he was a son of JoAnn Hilton-Deas and Edward Servance and stepson of Robert Deas and Phillip Billie.
He was a graduate of Manning High School’s Class of 2003. He furthered his education at the University of South Carolina Sumter and was taking ministry classes at Enon Missionary Baptist Church. Shaun accepted Christ at age 12 and continued to live this life until his passing. He attended Mount Calvary FBH Church and later joined Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Alcolu. Prior to his employment with Clarendon School District 2, he was employed with Athlete’s Foot in Georgia. He enjoyed writing, taking pictures and coordinating projects such as weddings and family reunions.
He is survived by his mother, JoAnn Hilton-Deas; father, Edward Servance; stepfathers, Robert Deas and Phillip Billie; brothers, Dernell R. Hilton and Dominique Hilton; maternal grandmother, Essie Hilton; four aunts, Rosa M. Hilton, Doris Hilton, Cherere D. Hilton and Stacie Salters; five uncles, Kenneth (Mary) Hilton, Michael (Andrea) Hilton, Mack Hilton Jr., Carlos (Angela) Hilton and Harold (Janie) Whack; and an adopted sister, Shantel Canady.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mack Hilton Sr. and his paternal grandparents, Moses Servance and Mable Servance.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Alcolu with Bishop Allen H. Simmons officiating and assisted by the Revs. James S. Hudley, pastor, Curtis Cantey, W.J. Frierson, Michael Richburg and Ethel Sweat.
Burial was in Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
Fleming and DeLaine Funeral Home and Chapel of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
