Laverne Morris has waited 35 years for what happened on Nov. 16, 2007.
Morris’ first hole-in-one was in 1971, and has now been followed by another at the Players Course in Manning.
Morris scored a hole in one on the 16th hole using a 7-iron.
“It is the hardest green to putt and I saw the ball roll on the back and my friends Lola Bradshaw and Peggy Cunningham started screaming that they thought it was going to go in. I looked up and it was in the hole,” she said.
Morris’ said she would like to have more one-stroke wonders in 2008 but she is not going to make any goals.
“I’m going to take any I can get and I intend to get as many I can,” she said.
Morris, 68, has been a member of the Player’s Course for three years. She said she started golfing at 33-years-old.
“My husband and I liked it so much we quit everything we did and started golfing,” she said.
Morris, born and raised in Manning, is a retired bookkeeper from B-Mart and a charter member of Manning Baptist Church.
