Ninmark Pearson

Ninmark Pearson, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter.

Born April 28, 1925, in Manning, he was a son of the late Rev. Gussie and Fannie Brunson Pearson.

Ninmark received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County. At age 17, he joined the Navy and honorably served his country for four years. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he moved to Baltimore, Md. On July 19, 1948, Ninmark was joined in holy matrimony to Margaret Pearson. He worked for Domino Sugary Fountain for more than 30 years and as a policeman for 15 years. After his retirement, he relocated to South Carolina. He was caring and generous and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Fannie; a stepmother, Geneva Brunson; four brothers, Spurgeon, Troy, Richard and Tennerson; and five sisters, Lillie, Gussie, Ruth, Dorothy and Mary Jane.

Those left to grow from his love are his wife, Margaret; six sons, Ninmark Jr. (Delores), Steven (Edie), Ninmark (Cassandra), Kenneth (Cheryl), Marcus (Katina) and Maurice (Tina), all of Baltimore; five daughters, Annette, Julia Faye (Edward), Delvonne (George), Patrice (Roger) and Tia, all of Baltimore; 27 grandchildren; seven brothers, Edward and Longfellow, both of Baltimore, Simen, Hoover, Stein, Rock and Senew, all of South Carolina; four sisters, Marie of South Carolina, Rush, Roxie and Lovenia, all of New York; a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and a caring friend, Mary Gertrude Jackson.

Funeral services for Mr. Pearson were held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. William T. Johnson, officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Summerton Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
