Lawrence McFadden
Lawrence McFadden, 52, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 24, 1955, in Florence County, he was the son of Lee Samuel McFadden and Laura Mae Burgess McFadden.
McFadden accepted Christ as his Savior, joined Howard Chapel AME Church and attended Sunday school. He received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County and graduated from East Clarendon High School in 1974. He was employed with Newman Construction until his health failed.
Survivors included his parents of the home; one daughter, Victoria (Jeffrey) McFadden of Turbeville; one son, Xavier McFadden of Lynchburg; one sister, Mary (Hugh) Evans of New Zion; two brothers, Lee Samuel (Lena) McFadden Jr. of New Zion and George (Teresa) Montgomery of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; former wife, Ruth L. McFadden of Olanta; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Howard Chapel AME Church in New Zion with the Rev. Alfred Bradley officiating, assisted by the Revs. Dr. Johnnie McFadden, Jerry L. Gadsden, James Carter and Lucious Wheeler and Minister Arkus Frierson.
Burial was in the churchyard cemetery.
Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
