Oscar Frazier
Oscar Frazier, 93, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 26, 1914, in the Sugar Hill Community of Manning.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County and accepted Christ at an early age.
He lived in New York all of his adult life and was actively involved in numerous ministries at Saint David’s Episcopal Church, Bronx, N.Y., for 40 years. He was a World War II veteran and was honorably discharged. He retired as a chef from the railroad.
He served as a board member of the Anna Lefkowitz Day Care Center, Inc. and held the position of vice-president of Boys of Yesteryear, Inc.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 67 years, Mamie Frazier, of the home; a devoted brother-in-law, Oscar “Skinny” Osborne of Harlem, N.Y.; a host of nieces, grandnieces, great-grandnieces, nephews, great- and great-grandnephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, in Chapel AME Church, Paxville, with the Rev. Major Lloyd officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Cokley Richburg and Dr. Elizabeth Richburg.
Blackwell-Jenkins Funeral Home of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
