Garland V. Browder

GREELEY-VILLE – Garland Vancurn Browder Jr., 77, husband of Sadie Grace Richburg Browder, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at his home in Greeleyville.

Born Aug. 1, 1930, in Greeleyville, he was a son of the late Garland Vancurn Browder Sr. and the late Ruby Louise Metts. He was a retired lift operator for Georgia Pacific and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving besides his wife of Greeleyville are two sons, Theodore M. Browder of North Charleston and Jessie V. (Linda) Browder of the Brewington community of Manning; four daughters, Sharon B. Tuvera of California, Melissa Browder of Azle, Texas, Debra Browder (Larry) Slice of West Columbia and Cynthia D. Browder of Manning; a sister, Earline Anderson of Orangeburg; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Browder.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Ed Watson officiating.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
