Clarence E. Jackson Jr.
BISHOPVILLE – Clarence E. “C.E.” Jackson Jr., 77, husband of Josie Best Jackson, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at a local nursing facility.
Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Clarence E. Jackson Sr. and the late Matie Lee Jackson. He was a member of St. Andrew Church of God and spent most of his career in farming and was retired from the S.C. Department of Highways and Public Transportation.
Survivors besides his wife include a daughter, Linda (Ken) Watson of Sumter; three sons, Clarence E. “Bubba” Jackson III of the home, Eddie (Kimberly) Jackson, and Dwayne (Cindy) Jackson, all of Sumter; eight grandchildren, Allen Watson, Allison McKellar, Leigh Jackson, Chad Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Ashley Jackson, Nicole Jackson and Lauren Pedersen; a great-grandchild; five sisters, Virginia J. Davis, Mildred J. Brown, Marie J. Lawson, Eleanor J. (Darrell) Wyrick and Patricia J. (Claude) Phillips; two sisters-in-law, June Jackson and Jean Cole; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Jackson and Buddy Jackson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, at St. Andrew Church of God with the Rev. Frank Ramey officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
