Lou H. Harvin
Lou Hodge Harvin, 85, widow of James G. Harvin Sr., died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in the Providence community of Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Ingram Hodge and Edell Jones Hodge. Mrs. Harvin was a member of Paxville Baptist Church and was retired from Pioneer Dress Co. after 27 years of service.
Surviving are two sons, James G. Harvin of Sumter and Charles M. Harvin of Paxville; two daughters, Judith H. (Joe) Coonce and Peggy H. (Rusty) Lewis, all of Sumter; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Hazel L. Hodge and Milton Hodge; and four sisters, Pearle Bryant, Melva Bryant, Mildred Hodge and Alpha Hodge.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Revs. Eugene Mosier and Mark Bishop officiating.
Burial followed in Paxville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cameron Prescott, Wade McLeod, Billy Barwick, Ted Southerly, Norman Hodge and Lloyd Hodge.
Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. Lea B. Givens, Dr. Phil Brandt and Dr. Robert Segars.
