Ruth R. Griffith

Ruth Ridgill Griffith, 72, widow of Robert B. Griffith, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Paxville, she was a daughter of the late Ben Ridgill and the late Nellie Kolb Ridgill.

Mrs. Griffith was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Bobby (Sharon) Griffith of Lynchburg; a daughter, Mary Ruth (Randy) Williamson of Sumter; a brother, Frank (Mary Ruth) Ridgill of Sumter; a sister, Jewel McGerdy of Sumter; four grandchildren, Kevin and Brent Griffith of Lynchburg and Robbin and Jesse Brown of Sumter; four great-grandchildren, Cody, Courtney, Hanna Griffith and Katey Robertson.

Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Griffith officiating.

Burial followed in Sumter Cemetery.

Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory of Sumter, was in charge of the arrangements.
